Technical specification of ductile iron
fittings
Ductile iron fittings in accordance with the
International Standards ISO 2531 & BSEN 545. Fitting socket is of triduct
push on joint. Flange joints are dimensioned and drilled according to ISO
2531 .PN10-16OR 25
All fittings are class K12 except the Tees
which are class K14
Internal coating;
All fittings are lined internally with
Portland cement per ISO 4179
External coating
All fittings are coated externally by pure
metallic zinc with thickness of 100 microns. Zinc is then covered by 120
micron of bituminous paint
Marking;
the marking of fittings is in accordance with the Standards ISO 2531
Joints;
the rubber gaskets for the pipes is standard type where as triduct gasket is
offered for fittings which is similar to the tyton joints. These gaskets are
EDPM rubber according to ISO 4633
FLANGED PIPES
Flanged pipes are class K9, centrifugally
cast with welded flange PN10 -16 or 25. The gasket flange is normally EPDM
Elastomer rubber as Per ISO 4633. The normal gasket can be improved by steel
reinforced rubber gasket
PE SLEEVES.
Poly ethylene sleeve 200 micron thickness is
supplied in accordance with ISO 8180 and AWWAC-105
Spheroidal Graphite cast iron
- Good resistance to natural corrosion
Easily machined
Spheroidal graphite (S.G) has
Higher mechanical feature
Higher deformation capacity
A high modulus of elasticity
A better shock resistance
Rubber expansion joints
Rubber expansion joint are specially designed
in spherical shape and the rubber ball is reinforced with steel wire and
nylon and then finally vulcanized under the high pressure. The joint is
supplied with floating metallic flange or FMCB union
Because of its spherical ball shape, it poses
high resistance to explosion and its elastic structure enables pipeline
system
